Dance Clinic sessions are built around the specific demands of dance – turnout, pointe work, repeated impact, extreme ranges, long rehearsal days and performance schedules. We understand choreography, rehearsal demands and casting pressures, and plan your rehab around real production and training timelines, not just generic gym goals.
-
The Dance Clinic is a specialist service for dancers and performers, combining dance‑specific physiotherapy, injury rehab, strength and conditioning, and technique‑aware coaching. We help you recover from injury, build capacity, and return to rehearsals, classes and performances safely and confidently. We understand your world and the demands that are placed on you. You can count on us to put ourselves in your dancing shoes and guide you on the safest and most sensible plan forward.
-
We work with dancers of all levels – from vocational students and professionals to recreational adults and movement‑based performers. Whether you dance on the West End, in company, at college, or take open classes for joy and fitness, you’re welcome here.
-
We regularly see foot and ankle injuries (including pointe‑related problems), knee pain, hip and lower‑back issues, tendinopathies, stress reactions, overload injuries and recurrent “niggles” linked to technique or load. We also help with persistent tension, fatigue and movement restrictions that limit your training or performance.
-
No. You don’t have to be full‑time or on contract to use the Dance Clinic. We support dancers who train for career, education or pleasure – what matters is that dance is important to you and you want your body to be looked after accordingly.
-
We start with a detailed history of your training, performance schedule and injury story, then assess relevant technique, alignment, strength, control and load tolerance in dance‑specific positions. From there, we build an individual plan which may include hands‑on treatment, rehab, strength and conditioning, flexibility work and training modifications.
-
Yes. We provide the countries first and only physio-led pointe show screening and pointe‑specific assessments looking at strength, alignment, control and joint mobility. We can advise on safe progression, supplementary strength work and how to protect your feet and ankles as your pointe work develops.
-
Absolutely. Alongside injury rehab we offer support with flexibility training, technique refinement, strength and conditioning for dancers, and pre‑screening to reduce injury risk. We help you work towards the range, control and endurance your style demands, without compromising long‑term joint health.
-
Yes. We can deliver workshops on topics such as injury prevention, flexibility training, strength and conditioning for dancers, anatomy and physiology, and pointe readiness. If you’re a school, college, company or studio, contact us to discuss tailored sessions for your dancers.

Bring or wear clothing you can move in, any relevant footwear (for example pointe shoes, soft blocks, character shoes or trainers) and recent imaging or clinic letters if you have them. Video of choreography, class work or problem steps can also be very helpful for assessment.
